Rankings of stainless steel suppliers for 2012
According to our assessment, over 250 companies are engaged in the stainless steel trade on the Russian market. However the available information about their activities and transparency leaves much to be desired. Under such conditions it is hard for end-users to make the right decision.
The main goal of these rankings is to give an expert appraisal of the reliability of Russian stainless steel suppliers.
So who are these big and, not less important, reliable companies?

The leading role in the development of the Russian stainless steel market is still played by big steel trading companies which under the tough conditions of 2012 managed to increase their sale volumes and solidify leadership positions.

output/sales volumes, publicity and transparency, regional coverage, stock levels, service support, number of personnel, product range, foreign trade activities, number of permanent clients, business reputation, participation in public contests and trades.
2. An important role in the evolution of the Russian stainless steel market is played by trading houses and distribution centers of steel making plants.

Assessment of the leading trading houses and distribution centers of stainless steel producers included the following key indicators: dynamics and volumes of stainless steel sales, product mix and grades, product quality, publicity and transparency, ordering and delivery terms, and management quality.
\r\n3. In 2012, SpetsStal Association announced another annual nomination - the Project of the Year.
This nomination will be awarded for achievements in the development of producing facilities domestically as well as improving the output of modern types of stainless steel products.
In the nomination of "the Best Project of the Year 2012" the first place is taken by Globus-Stal (www.globus-stal.ru), which in October 2012 launched the first in Russia specialized cut-to-length line for hot-rolled flat products up to 12 mm thick, 2,100 mm wide and up to 16,000 mm long.
