Russian stainless steel consumption in 2019
According to Spetsstal Association, in 2019 the volume of stainless steel consumption in Russia, compared with 2018, practically unchanged and amounted to 497.81 kt (000’ tons).
Consumption of stainless steel CR flat-rolled products decreased by 8.8% and slabs/ingots - by 17.9%.
Consumption of stainless steel HR flat-rolled products increased by 3.7%, bars/rods – by 4.2%, welded tubes – by 10.9%, seamless tubes - by 22.2%, tubular billet – by 11.0% and wire – by 24.7%.
The volume of stainless steel domestic output (excl. fittings/flanges) increased by 13.4% to 136.56 kt.
The volume of import (excl. fittings/flanges) decreased by 4.2% to 369.17 kt and export – by 1.4% to 7.93 kt.
