Russia stainless steel consumption rises high in 1H 2011
According to SpetsStal’s appraisal, consumption of stainless steel in Russia in 1H 2011, if compared to the same period in 2010, rose 26.2% to 174.7 thousand tons.

Stainless steel consumption in Russia has demonstrated excellent results in 1H 2011. 2008’s record of 156.3 thousand tons has been overcome. The reason to the rising of stainless steel consumption is in robust demand from the end-user sector (various industrial branches and construction). Consumption of stainless steel flats rose 20.5%, longs – 41.9%, wire – 10.7%, slabs and ingots – 51.9%, seamless tubes – 31.2% and welded tubes – 29.0%.
