Stainless steel imports to Russia in the first quarter of 2008, as compared with the same period of 2007, rose 1.4% to 35.7 thousand tons.

For the mentioned period, stainless steel exports fell 28% to 2.76 thousand tons. The decline in exports affected also stainless steel scrap.
