Government\'s funds pourings to Sochi. Stainless steel boom expected.

The Russian Government has approved an unprecedented US$12 billion Federal Target Programme (FTP) for the development of the Sochi region in support of our bid for hosting the Olympic games 2014. The programme fully covers the development costs of Sochi"s new infrastructure, including all venues in our 2014 plan. As a result, the region will showcase the most modern hotels, roads, transport and utilities networks that meet the highest international standards well before 2014.

\r\n

FTP Highlights:

US$ 12 billion investment programme
The first of its kind public-private partnership
State-of-the-art sports facilities
200 km of new roads and railways
Modern new airport terminal serving 4 million passengers per year
Doubling of the number of 3-5 star hotel rooms
Emphasis on environmental preservation
Construction of modern utility infrastructure

Experts are sure that development of Sochi"s infrastructure will stimulate stainless steel boom in this region. Chief constructors responsible for establishment of new modern facilities are looking for stainless steel suppliers. As stainless steel demand in Russia is mostly satisfied by import supplies, foreign producers and traders get a new chance to reinforce their presence in Russia and to bridle the new prospects of the briskly developing market.

The majority of issues concerning stainless steel consumption will be reflected at the International Business Forum "Stainless Steel. Sochi 2007-2014" that will take place on 16-17 October 2007 in the Russian city of Sochi at the Black sea.
