Russian Stainless Steel Imports increased

According to the expert assessment of Spetsstal Association, for the first ten months of 2018, compared to the same period of 2017, Russian imports of major stainless steel products increased by 2.2% to 315.62 thousand tons.

Imports of flat-rolled stainless steel with a width of 600 mm or more (HS code 7219) increased by 3.2% to 226,07 thousand tons,

• seamless tubes (HS Codes 730441 and 730449) – by 32.2% to 11.24 thousand tons,
• tubes or pipe fittings (HS Codes 730721, 730722, 730723, 730729) – by 52.0% to 4.32 thousand tons,
• semi-finished products (HS 7218) – by 42.2% to 3.17 thousand tons,
• welded tubes and pipes external diameter of which exceeds 406.4mm (HS 7305 only stainless steel) – 497.7% to 2.71 thousand tons.

Imports of bars and rods, angles, shapes and sections (HS 7222) decreased by 13.0% to 21.71 thousand tons,

• flat-rolled products of width less than 600mm (HS 7220) - by 0.2% to 20.49 thousand tons,
• welded tubes, pipes and hollow profiles (HS 7306 only stainless steel) – 24.5% to 14.09 thousand tons,
• wire (HS 7223) – by 17.1% to 5.92 thousand tons.
