Who supplies stainless steel to Russia in 2017
To remind, in 2017, as compared with 2016, the volume of import increased by 21.1% to 372.73 thousand tons. Stainless steel products were imported from 54 countries (2016 – 53) for the amount of 1.05 billion US dollars.
According to SpetsStal's appraisal, the following countries took a leadership in stainless steel supplies to Russia in 2017: China with a share of 33.4% out of the whole imports (in 2016 – 26.2%), Taiwan – 15.4% (18.6%), India – 10.5% (9.5%), Spain – 6.4% (4.5%) and South Africa – 5.7% (8.2%).
Out of the top 5 countries, China increased stainless steel supplies to Russia by 54.2% to 124.37 thousand tons, Taiwan - by 0.8% to 57.55 thousand tons, India - by 34.2% to 39.27 thousand tons and Spain – by 70.0% to 23.77 thousand tons. South Africa decreased stainless steel supplies to Russia by 15.4% to 21.22 thousand tons.
