Stainless steel consumption in Russia in the first half of 2017

According to Spetsstal Association, the volume of stainless steel consumption in Russia in the first half of 2017, if compared to the same period of 2016, increased by 30.5% to 240,140 tons.
At that, the volume of domestic output increased by 13.7% to 65,485 tons, exports – by 0.2% to 2,293 tons and imports - by 37.4% to 176,948 tons.
In ½ 2017 the share of foreign products in total stainless steel consumption in Russia was 73.7%, and domestic – 26.3% (in ½ 2016 – 70.0% and 30.0% respectively).
Consumption of stainless steel flats increased by 31.1%, long products – by 27.5%, welded tubes – by 31.8%, seamless tubes – by 33.6%, wire – by 21.0% and slabs/ingots – by 30.6%.

In Moscow from November 14 till November 17, 2017 the 23rd International Exhibition "Metal-Expo'2017", in which leading traders, manufacturers and consumers of stainless steel will take part, will take place.
Specially for the exhibition, the "Spetsstal" Association is preparing the Review "Russian Stainless Steel Market".
The review will be published in print (European standard A4, ~ 40 pages) in Russian language with a circulation of 2000 to 2500 copies and will be presented at the stands of the Association members and exhibitors.
