Stainless steel consumption in Russia in 2016
According to Spetsstal Association, the volume of stainless steel consumption in Russia in 2016, compared to 2015, increased by 18.8% to 414,248 tons.
At that, the volume of domestic output decreased by 0.3% to 116,463 tons, exports increased by 0.6% to 4,960 tons and imports - by 27.8% to 302,745 tons.
The share of stainless steel imports amounted 72.9% (2015 – 67.8%).
Consumption of stainless steel flats rose by 27.1% to 264,278 tons, longs – by 2.9% to 74,337 tons, welded tubes – by 12.9% to 36,606 tons, seamless tubes – by 10.1% to 27,590 tons and wire – by 9.4% to 8,141 tons.
Consumption of slabs/ingots decreased by 7.0% to 3,296 tons.
