Russian stainless steel imports in 2015
The structure of stainless steel imports to Russia was made up of: flats with a share of 75.1% out of the overall stainless steel imports (in 2014 – 73.5%), longs – 10.3% (11.2%), welded tubes – 5.5% (4.8%), seamless tubes – 4.3% (5.4%), wire – 2.7% (1.7%), fittings/flanges – 1.5% (2.2%) and slabs/ingots – 0.7% (1.1%).
In 2015, compared with 2014, imports of cold-rolled flats fell 8.5% to 141,853 tons, while that of hot-rolled flats, in contrast, rose 9.7% to 38,767 tons.
Imports of long products decreased by 14.7% to 24,804 tons, seamless tubes – by 27.1% to 10,275 tons, fittings/flanges – by 36.2% to 3,645 tons and slabs/ingots – by 45.3% to 1,575 tons.
Imports of welded tubes increased by 5.7% to 13,218 tons and wire – by 44.7% to 6,392 tons.
