Russian export of stainless steel grew up in May, but volumes remain low
According to experts of the Spetsstal Association, the volume of Russian export of major products of stainless steel in May 2015 increased by 26.9%, compared to April, and amounted to 354 tons.
The structure of Russian export was presented by seamless tubes, which share in total deliveries amounted to 40.4% (in April - 15.1%), flat-rolled products - 32.5% (23.7%), long products - 12.7% (39.1%), welded tubes - 11.3% (15.8%), fittings/flanges - 2.5% (3.9%), slabs/ingots - 0.3% (2.2%) and wire - 0.3% (0.4%).
In May 2015, export of flat rolled products increased by 74.2% to 115 tons and seamless pipes - by 240.5% to 143 tons. Export of long products decreased by 58.7% to 45 tons, welded pipes - by 9.1% to 40 tons, slabs/ingots - by 83.3% to 1 ton and fittings/flanges - by 18.2% to 9tn. Wire export remained the same - 1 ton.
In the period from January to May 2015, compared to the same period of 2014, the volume of Russian export of major stainless steel products decreased by 68.3% and amounted to 1436 tons, compared to the same period of 2013 - by 86.5%.
