Stainless steel output rose 11.4% in Russia
According to SpetsStal's appraisal, Russia's output of stainless steel in 2013, compared with 2012, rose 11.4% to 114,195 tons.
Russia's leading stainless steel producers are VMK Red October with a share of 32.8% out of the total output, Chelyabinsky MK – 29.2%, MZ Electrostal – 12.3%, Zlatoustovsky MZ – 11.0% and Izhstal – 5.9%.
Over the past year these producers ended up with different results. VMK Red October managed to increase its output 15,6%, Chelyabinsky MK – 21.9% and Izhstal – 14.6%.
MZ Electrostal and Zlatoustovsky MZ decreased their production 0.6% and 9.4% respectively.
One of the important events in 2013 was that Zlatoustovsky MZ came under control of VMK Red October. Now the united group makes 43.8% out of the total stainless steel output while GK Mechel - only 36.3%.
