Who supplies stainless steel to Russia?
To remind, in 2013, as compared with 2012, stainless steel imports to Russia rose 5.1% to 251.6 thousand tons. Stainless steel products were imported from 42 countries for the amount of 830.8 million dollars (+2.8% on 2012).
According to SpetsStal's appraisal, the following countries took a leadership in stainless steel supplies to Russia in 2013: Taiwan with a share of 16.9% out of the whole imports (in 2012 – 15.9%), India – 10.8% (7.8%), China – 9.6% (14.1%), Finland – 8.8% (6.1%) and Ukraine – 8.5% (9.8%).
Out of the top 5 countries, Taiwan, India and Finland increased stainless steel supplies to Russia in 2013, if compared with 2012, by 11.4%, 45.0% and 52.5% respectively.
China and Ukraine, on the contrary, decreased their stainless steel exports to Russia by 28.8% and 8.3% respectively.
