Russia Stainless Steel Imports fell 29.2% in May 2013
SpetsStal reports a fall in exports of Russian-made stainless steel products in May 2013, compared to April, by 29.2% down to 2,153 tons.
Exports of stainless steel flats decreased 47.3% down to 185 tons, longs – 39.5% down to 398 tons, wire – 96.8% down to 2 tons, seamless tubes – 66.7% down to 52 tons and billets/ingots – 16.8% down to 1,509 tons. Exports of stainless steel welded tubes rose 7 times but equated to only 7 tons.
The structure of stainless steel exports in May 2013 took the following pattern: billets/ingots had a share of 70.1% of stainless steel exports, longs – 18.5%, flats – 8.6%, seamless tubes – 2.4%, welded tubes – 0.3% and wire – 0.1%.
